The Brothers Insurance Group, Inc DBA The B.I.G. Insurance Agency came into fruition in March 2022 through two close friends, Santos Portillo, and Andrew Solano. They met during their State Farm years, and after similar life and professional experiences during the captive years, their friendship solidified, and came to consider each other as “Brothers from another mother.” Santos and Andrew take much pride in being able to serve the local community together.
The B.I.G. Insurance Agency is an independent agency offering personal, business, and life insurance services. It provides a one-of-a-kind bilingual insurance shopping experience to fill a niche in the market by serving shoppers who don’t want the traditional insurance salespeople involving high-pressure sales with no customer education, and no added customer benefit.

After years in the captive insurance world, Santos and Andrew realized that in order to provide a complete solution to their client needs they were lacking insurance carrier options. They decided the independent agency route would provide them with more choices, flexibility, and freedom while increasing customer acquisition, satisfaction, and retention. Therefore in 2021, they transitioned into the independent model.
It took them two years, along with some trial and error, to finally find the right partnership that aligned with their agency’s vision. It was pivotal for them to choose the right vehicle to ensure their customers’ satisfaction while also accomplishing the financial goals they set in place for their families.
